My First Windows Home Server Arrived
24 Jun 2009 2 CommentsI was planing to replace my NAS device I got last year with something better. I loved the NAS and the idea of being able to access my files from any PC from the network.
After reading for a while I decided to go with a windows home server (WHS), It’s got a lot of functionality, much better than a normal NAS.
I ordered the Acer Aspire AH340-UA230N Windows Home Server from amazon 2 days ago and got it today.
The device looks great, its very sleek.
The specs are very good too:
Intel Atom Processor 230
Microsoft Windows Home Server
1 TB Hard Drive
2 GB DDR2 Memory
3 hot swappable hard drive bays
5 USB 2.0 Ports
1 eSATA Port
Gigabit Ethernet
With the 3 bays you can have up to 7TB of storage, which is more than enough for me, unlike some people ;p. And you can get more storage by connceting and external HDD via USB or eSATA.
Since I can’t test it here. I’ll give it a proper review when I get back to Kuwait.
