United Networks vs Qnet vs Kems

So it is this little culprit that is always giving me trouble.
I started with United Networks, or Global Direct, because N told me he was using them, and didnt have any trouble. Their service to start was great. They send a guy to your house , you give him the papers and money, and he goes and does all your work. It just about ends there. Customer service, like most aftersales in Kuwait, was poor. Disconnections became normal around the house. So, with more than 2 months left on the yearly subsricption, we caved in, and cancelled to go with ISP number 2.

Qualitynet. Or Qnet. Why do all of them have 2 names? So we start with a delay of a week for the “jumper” to be removed and reinstalled, and all that stuff. Once it worked, my brother took our US Robotics Router with all the range extenders in the house to the Khaeelijiya Building in order for Qnet to program them on our new settings. But they told us that they only knew how to use the Thomson router they gave us with our subscription. Which obviously is bullsh*t, as i learned to do it myself. Of course, they refused to help and i had to go home and read through the manuals and figure out how to do it myself. It eventually worked, but not the best way to kick off our Qnet experience. I would say in about a year, i have gotten the full 2 MB for about 4 months. The rest of the time was usually much slower. They were able to use the cable is damaged excuse on more than one occassion for a good month, which also United Networks used. So yesterday i decided to call them and vent my frustration while fasting. To my surprise and joy, the subscription had expired a day before. But being very unsavvy with their costumer service, no one bothered to call and tell us. But we had a month left for some reason, but it was downgraded to 1Mb. I didnt even bother asking why or how. The reason i called was because for the past week the speed was around 512 rather than 2Mb. So i was excited to start my next venture into the world of ISP’s.

Behold, KEMS, or Zajil. I called N, and asked him about cancellations, subsciptions etc.. I was ready to do it today, then i realized i might be rushing into it. After all, it was N who told me about United Networks in the first place, and that didnt turn out to well. And now they have been saying that many blogs and normal sites are blocked by KEMS. So i will wait for that extra month and let him give me a good brief about how it all went, before i decide either to change to KEMS or remain with Qnet, or even try out Fastteleco. (who coincidentaly, only have 1 name)

ISP’s in Kuwait = overpriced, lack of customer service, lack of stable connections, lack of comptetiveness, double named, mostly.
UPDATE : Seems Qnet have a promotion until the end of this month, to upgrade to 3mb i would only have to pay 250kd as opposed to 320kd. hmmmm another dillema. Help?
