The Balloon Boy Scandal

If you havent heard of the balloon boy scandal its basically a 6-year old Colorado child name Falcon, who people had thought floated in his fathers homemade balloon and had fallen out while it was in the sky. To cut a long story short, his father is a self-proclaimed scientist (who took part in reality tv show Wife Swap) believing in extra-terrestial life etc, and basically pulled this off as a hoax and publicity stunt. The boy was found hiding in his parents attic. 2 National Guard helicopters wasted $14,500 in the search for the boy, as charges are pending from the Sheriff’s department. Update : it turns out the Colorado police are now saying the balloon is not capable of lifting off with the childs weight. link
