Burj Dubai To Be Officially Known As Burj Khalifa

I read Frankom’s tweet about watching “Burj Dubai” opening ceremony. So I turned on the TV and switched to DubaiTV channel, to my surprise at the bottom of the page it says:

“Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktom announces renaming the tower to Burj Khalifa”

Even the TV presenter was astonished.

So was it a nice by gesture Sheikh Mohammed or does that mean that the rumors are true, that Abu Dhabi really bought parts of Dubai as part of the bailout?

Dakar Rally Fatality

The German racing driver Mirco Schultis has quit the biggest rally in the world in Argentina after accidentally killing a spectator and injuring five others.

Marco Schultis lost control of his car at a bend in the first stage of the race and ploughed into a crowd of fans near the town of Rio Cuarto. "A 28-year-old woman suffered a traumatic brain injury as well as injuries to her stomach and pelvis," a local doctor said. The woman died later in hospital, and five other spectators were seriously injured.
