These are the current DSL prices here during the InfoConnect Expo.

Prices are for an annual subscription.

Speed\Company Qualitynet KEMS FastTelco GulfNet
128Kb N/A N/A N/A 50KD
256Kb 49KD 75KD 39KD 62KD
512Kb 85KD 75KD 59KD 80KD
1Mb 120KD 135KD 99KD 141KD
1.5Mb N/A 155KD N/A N/A
2Mb 180KD 204KD 159KD 192KD
3Mb N/A 304KD 239KD N/A
4Mb N/A 404KD 319KD N/A
2-4Mb* 235KD N/A N/A N/A
5-24Mb** 420KD 604KD N/A N/A

* If your line can handle more than 2Mb, you’ll get the speed for the same price as the you would for 4Mb. So basically they are saying that the prices of anything more than 2Mb and less than 4Mb are the same.

** subscription from 5Mb onwards will cost the same.

UPDATE UPDATE:

Notes:

Qualitynet: You’ll get double the subscription speed the first 3 months (for 256Kb and 512Kb subscriptions only), and a free wireless router.

Gulfnet: Subscription are for 14 months (2 free months) and you’ll get a free wireless modem.

They also have a new service where you can temporarily activate a 24Mb speed on your subscription (if your line can handle it) for a fee of 3.5KD. It will be activated for a week or till you reach your cap of 1GB, it can be activated via their website.

KEMS: You get 3 months free (total 15 months).

Fasttelco: You’ll get a 6 times your subscribed speed everyday from 1am to 7am.

updated KEMS 5-max pricing and Qualitynet’s note.

Thanks Khalid

How would you know if your line can handle more then 2mb?
is there any place you can check? or can they check for you?

I see quality net is giving away the 2-4mb same price… But are you saying that all providers are doing the same…
if so why does quality net have different prices for their 2mb and 4mb?

Question is directed towards anyone who knows the answer..

DVLz  1 Feb 2010

Kems last two prices should be in KD not Mb

N  1 Feb 2010

ButtOye: I think if you call they can check if your line can handle it.

Not exactly sure but I think that the price is for MORE than 2Mb maybe, they don’t have a listing for 4Mb. and no other provider have the 2-4Mb offer.

WUT do u think guys??
best company providing service n best offer?

N  1 Feb 2010

ON: Best costumer service I had so far is with KEMS, if you are willing to pay extra. but I haven’t had major problems so that I can test them.

Fastelco is the cheapest, what speed are you looking for?

ButtOye  1 Feb 2010

OK I just called Gulf Net to check what my landline can handle regarding speed on DSL. They said I cannot check unless I subscribe…

How will I know if it goes fast enough to acheive top speeds… why would I subscribe if it doesnt…

Anyone got solutions?

N  1 Feb 2010

When I called Qualitynet the guy told me to give him my number so that he can check my land-line capability. even after telling him that I wasn’t a Qualitynet subscriber.

so try Qualitynet :)

Hi,

KEMS prices are not correct. The correct prices are in today’s newspaper ad

http://alraimedia.com/Alrai/Resources/PdfPages/AlRAI/11172/P64.pdf

and thats for 15months as the ad says :)

FastTeleco offer is also in today’s newspaper, they would give you 6X of your speed from 1am to 7am.

oh and for kems prices, I think the prices they gave me is taking into account the 5KD they charge you for router setup. which is stupid :$

For QualityNet offer you only get double the speed for 3months only if you subscribe to the 256 and 512Kbps.
The Wi-Fi router is only for new subscriptions :/

kupilot  21 Feb 2010

people don`t go for fasttelco , the worst and slowest internet provider in kuwait.

2 years I had 1Mbps connection with KEMS and since 6 month GPON (fibreoptics) which was excellent with download and upload.
But since KEMS this year didn`t put an offer I switched to fasttelco offer 1Mbps and between 1am-7am 6Mbps , what a waist don`t go for fasttelco. here are my result for fastelco 1Mbps (using LAN/router and also Wifi same result !!)

Download Speed: 138 kbps (17.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 51 kbps (6.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

What a waist I have complained several times and I`m going to cancel my subscription and go back to KEMS , fastelco support staff also are the worst I ever seen they take long time to reply and they don`t know anything.

KEMS is still in my opinion the best internet provider till date

Mohammed  21 Jun 2010

Is there a download limit for 512kbps and 1 mbps subscriptions ?…..

N  21 Jun 2010

Mohammed: as far as I can remember there is no limit on these subscriptions. and there might be better deals now.
