Battle of Santiago

As football fever running high, I thought I might share this with you guys.
The Battle of Santiago is the name given to the football match between Italy and Chile in the 1962 World Cup group stage match in Chile. The pitch was more like a battlefield. It was an all out war between the two teams.
Just 2 guys got sent off as a result and both players are from the Italian side. The referee turned a blind eye to some of the home side actions.
The most accurate descriptions I think was given by David Colman as he called it:
The most stupid, appalling, disgusting and disgraceful exhibition of football, possibly in the history of the game.
