This is a gyroscopic self-leveling pool table on the cruise ship “Radiance of the Sea”. Even though the ship is rocking left and right, the balls on the table are completely still.
Microsoft showed the world their new Mobile OS yesterday in Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress. Dubbed “Windows Phone 7 Series” the OS looks awesome from the hands-on and the demo videos that we have seen so far. They show off everything yet as it is still in development (will be released by the end of the year) but from what I’ve seen so far I’m definitely onboard.
With Windows Phone 7 Series Microsoft started from scratch that’s why every thing looks new, amazing and fresh. Windows Mobile 6.5 elements are nowhere to be seen, which is a blessing. The new OS blends The ZUNE HD’s UI with the Android OS’s functionality and integration.
Not to forget also that the ZUNE Service integration is there and works perfectly. and that was the only reason I didn’t buy a ZUNE HD, I wanted the service implemented in a phone and didn’t want to carry a dedicated MP3 player with me, even though the ZUNE HD is an amazing device. It is also integrated with XBOX LIVE, that should be fun.
They really are reminding us that they are still a major player in the smartphone business.
A Lego store in Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, Illinois has a implemented the technology in a very smart way.
This is Left 4 Dead in Virtual reality using a Wiimote and GlovePIE. Note, Somehow Adobe screwed up the vid and made interframe blending. Also, GlovePIE now supports the Wii MotionPlus, so I could do more accurate scripts and other things using reaction tracking. This isn’t the best video, using a cell phone for IRL frameinframe. I’ve since improved this script and made it to where you tilt the Wiimote up to reload. Also, it’d be in 3d if I weren’t making the video.
The end has finally dawned, and GulfRun 5 at the Bahrain International Circuit was over. I think everyone who participated or went to the event enjoyed it, as there was all out safe action and surprises down the way. Last night was the closing ceremony in Lenotre, and GulfRun with their sponsors, handed out the timings of all the drivers and events and their awards.

T.Pain took me for a 5 min drive in the Caterham today here at the Bahrain GP Circuit. The car is amazing in cornering and has great acceleration, I really loved it.
Today was a really good day, the weather was a bit hot but very pleasant in the shade. All drivers participated in the full track, and also we saw some compete in the drifting competition that somehow transformed into a doughnut competition.
I also got to jump in a BMW M5 (above) and a Caterham (below) and be driven around the track.
Tomorrow, Day 3:
The drag race and the conclusion of the GulfRun 5 event. Practice should start by 9:30AM and then the elimination rounds. Should be fun.
will upload some videos shortly.
Thanks to both AAA Jr. and T.Pain for the rides.
