Dishonored: Bethesda’s New Game
18 Apr 2012 1 Comment
Bethesda (makers of games such as Skyrim, Fallout and Rage) took the wraps off their new game Dishonored, a new first person adventure game that looks like a mix of Bioshock and Assassin’s Creed.
"Dishonored puts you in the shoes of a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with strange technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man.
In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make."
Dishonored is scheduled for release by the end of 2012.
The Sony PS Vita

Being a gamer, I was thinking of getting the PS Vita ever since it was announced. But because of the underwhelming sales I thought I should hold out for a while anticipating a price cut just like what happened with the Nintendo 3DS. But I was caught of guard when I saw that XCITE were selling the 3G version for 105KD which was a very good price. The first thing you notice on any device these days is the screen. And the PS Vita’s 5″ 960×544 bright and crisp screen is just great.

The second analog stick is a godsend. People were asking for it ever since the release of the original PSP. Having it makes gaming much more natural especially if you are a console gamer since both XBOX and The Playstation both have dual analog sticks.

The console has just been released so the game library isn’t that big at the moment. You can play the games either via a physical game card or a digital download which is my favorite. The problem is the the PS Vita doesn’t come with any built-in memory so you would have to buy a memory card if you plan to download games, demos or even watch movies.

The battery is a problem with the device. During my gaming sessions I managed to get 3 hours max from a fully charge battery, that was with full brightness, wifi on and no sim card installed.

All in all I would say that the PS Vita is a pretty capable device that would be better if there was a bigger game selection but I’m sure that will be coming along on the near future.

Could This Be The Most Fun You Can Have in A Multiplayer Game?
27 Mar 2012 No Comments
With games like Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 hailed as the best online multiplayer experience you can have if you are a FPS guy. But what about old school gamers? How about Mario multiplayer but with a twist?
I posted about Mari0 (that’s with a 0 not an O) about six months ago [here] when it was a work in progress. It got released a few weeks back with some few elements, namely multiplayer.
I really encourage trying out the game. Its available Windows, Mac and Linux.
Edit: The video contains explicit language.

This Town is What Silent Hill is Based On, No Really This is it

If you are a gamer, or have watch game based movies, You must have seen/played or even heard of Silent Hill before. Silent Hill is a very popular horror game series that was first introduced back in 1999 and still has new releases coming out.; where the spooky/misty unpopulated town(except for monsters and a very small number of people) are all out to get you it seems.

Well, it seems that Silent Hill is not completely fictional. Centralia, Pennsylvania is where the Silent Hill movie writers actually visited before they made the movie. A fire is burning in the mines underneath the town started 50 years ago and is still burning to this day.
This was a world where no human could live, hotter than the planet Mercury, its atmosphere as poisonous as Saturn’s. At the heart of the fire, temperatures easily exceeded 1,000 degrees [Fahrenheit]. Lethal clouds of carbon monoxide and other gases swirled through the rock chambers – David DeKok

There are people actually still living in Centralia, 10 people as of 2010 to be exact. I have no idea what the hell they are doing there. The town is scary as hell.

5 Feb 2012 1 CommentChris Kamara must be the funniest guy in football. The Soccer Saturday presenter usually on the field and has some funny moments.
Kamara also provided commentary and basic motion capture for Chris Kamara’s Street Soccer released on the PlayStation back in 2000. It was one stupid game.

After mentioning time and time again that I won’t be getting the new MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic, I finally gave in and purchased the game a couple of days ago. Ever since I got the game working (I had to download the whole 12 GB’s twice due to and installation error) I couldn’t stop playing the game. This is my first MMO since the City of Heroes 7 years ago. The game is huge and I couldn’t comprehend the vastness and the effort that went into the voice acting until I started playing the game. This game is going to screw up my schedule in the coming months.
LIMBO: Best KD1.5 I’ve Spent On An Indie Game
28 Dec 2011 2 Comments
Even though Steam has a crazy sale going on at the moment, I’ve been persuaded by my brother to give LIMBO a try. I bought it a few months back when it was first available on Steam and didn’t manage to get any playing time on the game.
LIMBO is considered to be a puzzle/platform/adventure game but the puzzle part is where the game shines. It has one of the smartest puzzles I’ve played in a video game. You really enjoy solving them. Also the games art and style is wonderful and different than most other games and takes you back to the 2D era.
LIMBO is available on steam for $5 for Mac and PC. It is also available on the Mac App Sore for $10.

The Most Epic Flash Mob
25 Dec 2011 No CommentsWe have seen a lot of flash mobs before. All were about music and dancing, but not this one. This might be the most epic flash mob to date. Why? because its about a video game thats about Star Wars. EA is promoting their new MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic by having a bunch of Sith lords battling Jedi Knights in the middle of Times Square. Damn you EA for not having this game on Steam.
