I’ve been real busy so this might be old news for some bust I still thought I should post about it.
A few months ago, Christopher Tin made headlines when his song “Baba Yetu” that was originally written for the game Civilization IV, was nominated for a Grammy. It was the first ever music that was originally written for a game to be nominated.
Earlier this week, Baba Yetu won in the “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s)” category. I hope this is just the beginning. as we all know how wonderful gaming music really is.
One question, WHY?!
First I thought it was a parody video but then I found a few reviews on youtube.
“Trash Talk”? this is how you market your product?
It not a 2010 game but its certainly the best one I’ve played (and completed) that year. I originally bought Mass Effect on XBOX 360 back in 2007/2008 and played it just for a few hours as I bought it almost the same time I bought Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, and that game took up a lot of my game time.
But recently, during Steams christmas/new year sale (where I bought almost a 100 games by the way) I got both Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 games for $10/$30, and it was a steal.I bought the game on the 24th, started playing on the 25th, and finished the game by the 28th. It was great and I cant wait to start Mass Effect 2, especially when Mass Effect 3 is just around the corner.
Last night, during the 2010 Video Game Awards, some very nice games were shown . Sadly the earliest game of the bunch to be released will be “Batman: Arkham City” and its due next fall.
These are the games that I am waiting for:
Batman: Arkham City
The previous “Batman: Arkham Asylum” was one of my favorite games of ‘09 and from this trailer, the sequel is just as good.
The Elder Scrolls
November 11th 2011
I never got into the last installment of The Elder Scrolls(The Elder Scroll IV) I have a copy when the Xbox 360 first came out but never completed the game. But this trailer is epic.
Mass Effect 3
I remember getting the first Mass Effect game a few years back, and I remember how unique the gaming experience was. I loved the 3rd person shooter/RPG combo the game had. But Gears of War got released right when I was half way through the game. The rest is history. But this is the third and final chapter in this gaming series, so I should get my shit together.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
November 1st 2011
The Xbox 360 is my console of choice for casual gaming, and I only use the PS3 for exclusives mainly and the occasional Winning Eleven fix. The Uncharted series is one few Sony exclusives that any PS3 owner should have. I just completed the second installment of the game a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. Uncharted 3 will be taking place in Arabia…..cool
World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the latest installment in Blizzard’s WoW. You know, the best selling MMORPG to date. The game should be released December 7th.
I am not a huge iPhone gaming fan, I download games occasionally but I hardly ever play them. I really hate the onscreen control and really miss the physical buttons. But ever since I downloaded EA’s Fifa 11 for the iPhone a few days ago I changed my mind. It’s the only game I play now. It’s very well done with minimal controls. Of course your fingers block half the screen during gameplay and nothing still beats physical buttons but for the iPhone this is great. It also has commentary.
After pondering the thought if its legal to play or not before the official release date. I finally got to play the game on the 15th 1 day after the release date and a whole week after purchasing it. that was due not having enough time to get my game on.
After playing for a couple of days I finally got to complete the campaign. First few levels were co-op and then completed the what remained by my self in the solo campaign and left my buddy hanging.
The game was brilliant. If you are a Halo or a FPS fan then this is a must have.
If you are following me on twitter then you would know that I purchased what might be the most anticipated game of the year, Halo Reach 4 days ago (9th of Sept.) but haven’t played it yet. Not just because my sleeping schedule is screwed up after Ramadan. But because the game is not officially released in the US until the 14th and Microsoft have threatened that they will ban gamertags if the catch people connecting to live before the official release date. Also I’m waiting for friends to get the games so that we can play the campaign in coop mode.
But I think now I should be safe since we are so close to the release date don’t you think?
Capcom and Namco announced today at Comic-Con a new fighting game for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Street Fighter X Tekken (aka Street Fighter vs Tekken). Details are still sparse but for any fighting genre fan this is great news.
StarCraft II is nearing its release (July 27th). Its one of the most anticipated games this summer if not the year. The trailer above was just released by Blizzard today. Marzouq mentioned a few days ago that you can download the game now and activate it the date of release.
