Are You An iPhone Addict?
16 Sep 2009 6 CommentsHere are the top 5 signs that you are addicted to your iPhone. Plus an added one from me. You gotta love that iPhone.

1. You find that you go into a massive depression and have panic attacks when you get the 20% battery pop up warning.
2. You check the weather on your iPhone instead of looking out the window.
3. You’ve experienced deeply religious “Thank God” moments after finding your iPhone in your other pocket.
4. You just spent the last 4 hours on Facebook.
5. Your partner, husband, or wife bans any mobile phone usage at restaurants, bars and cafes in the presence of your friends and family.
* You start emailing your friends links of yourself singing rap songs using the “I am T-Pain” app.

Blu-Ray Region Guide
11 Sep 2009 5 CommentsThere seems to be a lot of confusion around blu-rays region/zoning dilemma coming from the DVD. I noticed that after the recent PS3 post.
So this is a quick guide, here it goes:
DVD’s had 6 zones as shown in the graph below:

But Blu-rays have 3 regions:

But blu-ray has an unspoken secret, most movies are region free, so it doesn’t matter what region your player is. You can check the Blu-ray titles here
As for the PS3, all PS3 games are playable on all region consoles, there is no region lock for games. But the restrictions are on DVDs and some blu-ray movies, so you wont be able to play your PS2 games (not an issue with the newer models)/DVD movies that you purchased from amazon if you have a PAL PS3 and vice-versa.
PS3 Slim For 69KD
8 Sep 2009 6 Comments
The PS3 slim is being sold for 69KD by the official dealer in Kuwait (Supplying Store Company) at their Avenues branch only while supplies last.
This must be a PAL system with 120GB HDD, that can play all PS3 games and most Bluray movies. But it wont play your existing DVD collection or region locked Bluray movies.
This is a great buy if you want the system for playing games mainly.

What Games To Buy in September
1 Sep 2009 12 Comments
With Batman: Arkham Asylum released a few days ago, and it being on of the most anticipated games of the summer, now we look forward to see what September has to offer.
*Note: A lot of games have been pushed back to 1st quarter of 2010 because of the amount of games being released in this quarter. And because no company wants to release its game so close to Modern Warfare 2, which will be released in November.
In other words, My top upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 games lists are a little outdated.
XBox 360 To Get A 250Gb HDD?
28 Aug 2009 No CommentsRight after Sony’s PS3 Slim’s announcement, Microsoft hit back with taking $100 of the XBox Elite’s price, putting it in the same ballpark as the PS3 both now cost $299.

Amazon Germany listed a new SKU that that is bundled with 2 wireless controllers, Forza motor sport 3 and a 250GB hard drive for $400. Microsoft currently sells 120GB maximum. That is big news for people like me that have the original 20GB hard drive and are holding out for an upgrade. I’ve been using the “install on hard drive” function on the 360 and love it, but the 20GB doesn’t hold much.
Amazon Germany took of the webpage but they have history of leaking new consoles before their announcement.

Halo Movie in The Works?
11 Aug 2009 No CommentsIt seems that Halo, the top XBox franchise and almost every PlayStation owner’s envy, will be coming to the big screen. After talks fell through a few months back, its a possibility again, with names like the legendary Steven Spielberg behind the project. I just cant wait for this to be confirmed.
What makes the Halo franchise better than most of the other FPS’s (First-Person-Shooter) out there is the story is very well written. And it will make a great movie if it gets a decent screen writer.

The Ultimate Gaming Machine
3 Aug 2009 4 Comments
We have heard of all the retro gaming consoles from N. and how he is always talking about the nintendo’s, sega’s, atari’s etc.. But what he does not know is that people like me skipped a couple of generations of megadrives and nintendo’s because we owned the Amiga! Personally I owned the compact Amiga 600, but the classic and most common one was the 500 pictured above. The games at the time were incomparable to any other gaming platform, whether it was graphics or playability. Lets take a walk down memory lane… Continue Reading
