Dell Streak: Hands-On
30 Apr 2011 1 Comment
The Dell Streak is an android device that got released last year, June of 2010 to be exact. A friend just got one and I managed to play around with it.
The device seems well built with a nice 480×800 5″ screen that I think is a bit too large for my taste.
The device is also pretty slim, as you can see in the photos compared to an iPhone 4.
But as for the internals there isn’t anything special, it might have been a year ago but now with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S II being released next week in the UK.
The Dell Streak is being sold in X-Cite for KD196.
Complete specs:
- A 5-inch capacitive multi-touch WVGA (800×480) display.
- Fast 1GHz Snapdragon ARM-based mobile processor from Qualcomm.
- 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash.
- VGA front-facing camera.
- A user-removable (and replaceable) battery.
- Integrated 3G + Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + Bluetooth 2.1
- UMTS / GPRS / EDGE class 12 GSM radio with link speeds of HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA.
- A user-accessible Micro SD slot expandable up to 32GB.
And I Thought Picking My Next Phone Will Be Easy
12 Apr 2011 5 CommentsHTC revealed their next super phone today. The Sensation 4G will be released mid May in the UK and June for the rest of Europe. The Sensation 4G will have the new dual-core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon processor along with a beautiful 960 x 540 4.3” display and a 8MP camera camera in the back that is capable of taking 30fps 1080p video.
I was already fixated on Samsung’s upcoming monster, the successor to the Galaxy S. Cleverly named the Galaxy SII that should also be released either end of April or beginning of May with similar specs. Now I have to wait for some benchmarks or even play with the devices my self before purchasing. Darn.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play: Hands-On
6 Apr 2011 11 CommentsYesterday, I got my hands on the new Xperia Play(thanks to my brother) and managed to play around with it for a little while. The build quality of the is great, it feels really solid and the sliding mechanism is great . The 4” screen looks wonderful and bright. Also the 1ghz processor was ran smoothly and handled the games and SonyEricsson’s custom UI without a hitch.
The device came loaded with 5 games The Sims 3, Star Battalion Tetris, FIFA 2010, Crash Bandicoot and Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors.
The ability to use buttons is a godsend to every gamer.I just hope that Sony plays this right by releasing more games and getting more publishers.
Now I’m really thinking of getting me an Xperia Play instead of waiting for Samsung’s Galaxy S II.
Configure Your Own Android Smartphone
4 Apr 2011 2 CommentsThis website has been around for a while now but still haven’t been updated ever since I first came across it last year. Great idea and is built on the concept of Android open-ness. But it seems that its hard to convert dreams into reality.
HTC is Bringing The Stylus Back To The Tablet
4 Apr 2011 No CommentsThe new HTC Flyer looks like it will be bringing back the pen/stylus input back to the tablet the is scheduled for released later this month. The HTC Flyer has a single-core 1.5Ghz processor and comes with android 2.3 but HTC promised a Honeycomb update “later this year”
I love the 7” size, but not sure what will the future hold for a tablet not following the rest of the bunch by having the dual-core Tegra 2 chip and Google’s new strict Android guidelines.

Blink Online Store

Just read this on ilSul6ana’s blog. I know Blink isn’t the first electronic online store in Kuwait but what made me post about it is their website interface is just too familiar.
I was in there store last month when I had my PC problem and saw -in my opinion- the best PC case ever created. The problem was it was the last piece and all scratched up. Also it costs 210KD :s
It’s All Good

About 2 weeks ago I posted about my PC and Windows Home Server both are out of commission. And I was taking my PC to Hawally that same day.
Well after fotor I took my PC to Hawally and the first 3 or 4 shops didn’t want to even touch my PC saying that they don’t have similar parts and so the wont even open the case. After they directed me to go to a certain shop. He told me to leave the PC and the installation CD’s with him and he’ll get back to me. I didn’t have the cd’s with me so I decided to take the PC back the next day with the discs. And also after removing any personal files I had on the PC.
After cleaning up one of the HDD’s I thought why wouldn’t I just try doing a clean installation on that drive to see if it works to just really make sure its a hardware and not a software issue. After installation everything worked just fine. The problem turned out to be with windows’s page file copying it self in 2 different locations.
Anyway everything is running smoothly now Thank god.
