Qatar Will Host The 2022 Fifa World Cup, And This Is How They Did It
3 Dec 2010 5 CommentsYesterday, during the Kuwait and Iraq match’s penalty kicks. Sepp Blatter announced the wining hosts for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. We were changing channels back and forth like crazy and praying for 2 things, 1) for Nawaf Al-Khaldi to make some saves and 2) for Qatar to host the World Cup. Mr. Blatter really got on our nerves with his long introductions, but it wasn’t long before we also started to jump around in excitement and happiness even before Kuwait won the match because Qatar was announced as the winning bidding nation for the the number 1 tournament for the number 1 sport in the world. These 2 videos will show 6 stadiums that Qatar are preparing for the tournament.
Congrats to Qatar for this amazing achievement.

A Blast From The Past: عبدالله الرويشد – انا بتبع قلبي
26 Nov 2010 2 Comments

“DSLR’s” Banned in Public Places in Kuwait
21 Nov 2010 3 Comments
So this is idiotic. I got an angry email (and I don’t blame him) from Marzouq linking to an article on the Kuwait Times’s website stating that the public use of “DSLR’s” and only DSLR’s is banned here in Kuwait. And apparently for no good reason.
It seems that from the article that photographers *think* that the ban came from the people’s fear of their privacy being invaded by The Big Black Camera.
If I spent a few hundreds/thousands of my hard earned Kuwaiti DInars to buy a camera and a few lenses, that meant I’m taking photography seriously and not looking to invade anyone’s privacy. The one’s who are doing this shit are maybe any idiot with a capable phone camera or even a Point&Shoot.
I got into photography a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. In fact, I just bought a couple of new lenses and a brand new DSLR (Sony SLT-A55) and its sitting waiting to be cleared by customs for the past 10 days.

It seems that mark also wrote about the same issue. [Link]

Jaber Stadium Panorama Shot
10 Nov 2010 4 Comments
Took this shot a few days back during Qadsiya vs Ittihad game. As you can see form the image, the stadium is packed. In the bottom right corner is where the Syrian team supporters were sitting. The rest was all Kuwaitis.

Hiyya Hiyya – Mo Qadsiya

Yesterday, I jumped at the chance to go and see the new “Jaber Stadium”. Anyone who watched the game yesterday will know that the place was packed. Cars were parking all over the place and there were no signs whatsoever to guide the people who were there for the first time.
The place was so dirty and full of sand. It clearly has never been cleaned ever since it was built. The screens in the stadium were not good at all, they were completely useless other than displaying the score and time. They didn’t even display the goal scorers.
What also was disappointing is that the pitch was horrible, it looked worse than almost any other football pitch in Kuwait. Qadsiya couldn’t play their beautiful fast paced flowing football O_o
II’ll think long and hard before going there again, unless I will see some proper football.
P.S. Qadsiya lost on penalties 4-2 after drawing 1-1 in the initial 90 minutes.
IT’S ALIVE!!!!!!
4 Nov 2010 2 CommentsI posted previously about my Blackberry curve just dying on me the other day. thanks to the commenters and some quick online research I discovered that that means either the OS has failed or an app is causing all of this. I didn’t have time to do my research to fix it myself so I just went to a shop to fix it for me.
A friend recommended I go to a place called “” literarily translated to “Chinese Michael”. The shop has like a ton of variable disassembled phones everywhere. After showing him my device he said it will take 15 mins and KD. I didn’t mind at all I just wanted my device working again.
After 10 mins or so of strolling around a went back to the shop and my device was already waiting for me with an upgraded version of the os (OS 5) I never even thought of upgrading my blackberry cause I am loving it because of the physical keyboard and not it’s dull OS.
