2 Major Announcements Within A Week

Both Apple and Microsoft are holding press conferences/events within a week. Apple event will be on April 8th and will be showcasing their new iPhone OS 4.0. There are no confirmed details on what might the new OS actually have in store for us but rumors consist of:

  • Bigger Screen
  • Higher Screen Resolution
  • Front-Facing Camera
  • Multi-Tasking
  • Better Notifications
  • A Useful Home Screen
  • Might Have The New A4 CPU

As for Microsoft its not that simple, it will be held on April 12th and nobody knows what exactly the event will be about. its just speculation now. it could be:

  • Project Pink (the long rumored phone project ever since Microsoft acquired Danger-The makers of the Sidekick).
  • More Windows Phone 7 news (They officially removed the “Series” part)
  • Zune news – really hope not
  • Xbox news – The green theme suggests that. (Link)

وافق مجلس الوزراء على تشكيل لجنة لتطبيق تقنية الطاقة الشمسية على المباني الحكومية برئاسة وزير الكهرباء والماء الدكتور بدر الشريعان وعضوية ممثلين لست جهات حكومية لا تقل درجتهم عن وكيل وزارة مساعد.

It will be fun if they fully depend on solar power with all the sand storms that we have.

Netanyahu Humiliated By Barack Obama

After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said.

“The Prime Minister leaves America disgraced, isolated and altogether weaker than when he came,” the Israeli daily newspaperHaaretz said.

This comes just a few weeks after Israel humiliated visiting Vice President Joe Biden During his visit with a surprise announcement of Jewish settlement plans.

It starts, the first iPhone app on my iPhone to get a compatibility update is Ocarina. I’m sure during the next few weeks iPhone owner will be getting a ton of updates.

In other aviation news, The Lockheed Martin’s F-35 managed to hover for the first time. The B variant stayed still for about 90 seconds in Patuxent River naval air station on March 17th.

 

The F-35 comes in 3 flavors, the “A” variant COTL (Conventional Takeoff and Landing). “B” STOVL (Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing). And Finally “C” Carrier variant, designed to make use of CATOBAR system (Catapult Assisted Take Off But Arrested Recovery).

It seams that we are finally going to get the wide version of the license plate here in Kuwait. Don’t worry, we are just a few decades late. I mean car manufactures had this size in mind when they where making there cars since god knows how long. Anyway, better late than never.

Al-Jazeera World Cup Pricing Announced

It seems that AL-Jazeera just announced that if you would like to watch the 2010 World Cup, you will have to fork out $100 ($130 for new customer) to get the pleasure of enjoying the prestigious Football tournament.

But $100 (KD28) is not a lot at all, I remember when ART had the rights for the competitions and people had to pay an arm and a leg (~KD125) to watch 1 month of football.

أحبط رجال الإدارة العامة للجمارك في ميناء الشويخ مساء امس محاولة قنصل سفارة كوريا الشمالية لدى البلاد تهريب طحين محلي مدعوم حكوميا الى خارج الكويت بعد شحنه في حاوية كبيرة مصدرة باسم احدى الشركات
وقالت مصادر امنية لـ «الراي» ان رجال الجمارك «اشتبهوا بإحدى الحاويات التي كانت في طريقها الى التصدير واكتشفوا أنها تحتوي على شحنة طحين ابيض مدعوم حكوميا، فتم حجز الحاوية التي حاول القنصل الكوري التوسط لإخراجها إلا أن طلبه قوبل بالرفض على اعتبار أن القانون يمنع تصدير المواد المدعومة حكوميا
وأضافت المصادر أن رجال الجمارك وبعد الانتهاء من تحريز كمية الطحين المهربة «رفعوا تقريرا الى الجهات المختصة لاتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة
