The above statements  are a couple of the ridiculous comments Don “Moose” Lewis, a former wrestling promoter, has been quoting as saying when marketing his new league. He refers to how “color” has made it more of “street ball” and that basketball leagues (NBA) have lost their fundamentals.

A Woman Falls and Tears a Pablo Picasso Painting

The six-foot by four-foot painting, which marked the artist’s transition from his Blue period to the Rose, was damaged on Friday when a visitor attending an art class "lost her balance" and fell on to the picture.

The accident resulted in an "irregular vertical tear" in the lower right-hand corner of the canvas, which was painted in the winter of 1904 to 1905.

Fortunately, the rip was not in the "focal point of the composition", a museum spokesman said, adding that the Met hoped the repair would be unobtrusive.

The repairs to the painting should be finished in time for an exhibition of 250 works by Picasso at the museum in late April.

All Hail Avatar, The Highest Grossing Movie Of All Time

The Numbers came out today, its now official. Avatar is now the highest grossing movie of all time with $1.288 billion passing Titanic, the movie that was holding the record for the past 13 years,  by a mere $46 million ($1.242 billion) last Saturday.

What’s funny is James Cameron directed both of these movies, so between them, James Cameron has made more than 2.5 Billion with 2 movies. He also directed one of the best Sci-Fi movies of all time, yes I’m talking about Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Conan O’Brien vs NBC

Most people have heard of the situation at NBC, with them trying to push Jay Leno (after his new shows’ failure) back into the Tonight Show, which happens to be Conan O’Brien’s slot. To make a long story short, NBC have paid off Conan and his staff around $45 million to give up their slot and leave the network. But until that happened, Conan decided to “make them bleed”. Nokia Offering Turn-by-Turn Navigation For Free

Nokia just announced today that most of Nokia owner can download the new map/nav application for free on their devices.

So that puts it on par with android devices. Except we don’t have good Google maps coverage here in the middle east. Hope Nokia’s offering is much better.

Zune Phone in The Works?!

I know I just got my Nexus One, but WMC is next month and the rumor mill is going crazy. It looks like Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Mobile 7 might be the long awaited Zune Phone AKA Project Pink. Steve Ballmer (CEO of Microsoft) did confirm in an interview last month that the new Windows Mobile 7 will have integrated Zune functionality, but didn’t give any further details.

What’s exiting about this is not only the software, but also the hardware.The rumored device (LG Apollo) Specs are just insane:

$1000 App from Apple iTunes Store

In 2008 Apple withdrew their “I Am Rich” app from the app store which sold 8 copies and only featured a red gem (shown below) on the iPhone’s home screen. They came under heavy abuse for even allowing an app of this sort into their App Store.

But now they are back with a real and working app that also costs $1000.  BarMax CA is a legitimate application which helps law students prepare for the BAR exam. Its price is allegedly justified because companies with the same styled programs sell it for between $3000-$4000. If you find yourself obliged to buy the app you can find it here.
