I previously thought that all rubber bullets were created equal. But not after seeing the video that shows a former US soldier explaining the rubber bullets that are used by the Israelis against the Palestinians, I felt duped. That is one hell of a way to bend the rules. They are still calling these “Rubber Bullets”.

A news cameraman in Australia provokes a Muslim by calling him a terrorist (among other things)  just so that he can get his footage of an “Angry, screaming, out of control Muslim”. The video was later edited and broadcasted on national television not showing the cameraman’s actions, until another source got a hold of the unedited video.

Remember the plane crash almost 2 weeks ago that killed the polish president? Well it seems that there is a video circling the net showing ground-zero moments after the crash with survivors and gunshots being heard clearly in the video.

Not only that but the author of the video (Adrij Mendierej) was later stabbed on April 15th, 5 days after the crash and the video uploaded. He was in critical condition but not dead, but he also got  assassinated after unidentified individuals unplugged his respirator in the hospital on April 16th.

The late Polish president wasn’t that into Russia, he sided with Georgia and Ukraine against them and called the current Russian government the  “new imperialism"

After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said.

“The Prime Minister leaves America disgraced, isolated and altogether weaker than when he came,” the Israeli daily newspaperHaaretz said.

This comes just a few weeks after Israel humiliated visiting Vice President Joe Biden During his visit with a surprise announcement of Jewish settlement plans.

The recent Gaddafi outburst came after a stupid Swiss law forbidding the building of anymore Minarets. Even John Stewart found that idiotic.

Of course that not the only reason, Gaddafi’s son was arrested last year while he was in his hotel room in Switzerland for assaulting his “servants”. Big daddy soon replied by cutting off oil sales to them.

I just wanted to shed some light on the story, I don’t want people to blindly side with either Gaddafi nor Switzerland.

With all thats going on with Swine Flu around the world, and more importantly in Kuwait, we are all faced with a new dilemma. The vaccine is now available for the elderly and young, and those suffering certain health conditions. So the question is, do we take it? Do we give it to our kids? With viral emails and endless websites talking about the side effects, you really don’t know whats true and whats made up. There is a panel in the US set up to monitor the side-effects of the vaccine, you can read about it here. You can also check some of the side effects so far in this article. Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer has already taken the vaccine in order to release some of the anxiety faced by many people regarding its safety. Knowing his credibility, the majority will deny it was taken for “politics” in order to calm everyone down. It was a great step by him, but are the rest of us as brave to do the same for our loved ones?

For years and years alot of us have heard about subliminal messages in cartoons and animations. So what are subliminal messages and how do they work?

Subliminal messages in movies and television take two forms. The first and most controversial is a few frames added to a movie or television show that contain a message. The second type of subliminal message is the inclusion of an object in the movie set which can contain a message that is theoretically interpreted by the subconscious.

A movie in the theater is projected at 24 frames per second. This rate of projection insures that the film is interpreted as “flicker less” by the human brain. The human eye and brain can not interpret action that occurs at less than 1/30th of a second. The projection rate insures that the human neural system can interpret the action on the screen without being jumpy or starting and stopping.

Subliminal messages can be a few frames of message that are inserted into a scene in the movie. While there is some debate as to whether subliminal messages truly are effective, they are inserted into many movies as either a product promotion or an attempt to heighten the sensation that is created in the scene.

In theory, while the eye can not visually see the few frames of subliminal message edited into the movie the subconscious receives the message and responds to the message. When an object is inserted into the scene, the eye may be following the action of the scene while the subconscious responds to the object and this response is transmitted to the conscious. link

In recent times, most of the uncovering of subliminal messages are found in Disney movies. And surprisingly enough, most of them are of sexual content. Which makes it even worse since these are usually made for children. I was expecting to find alot of different subliminal messages. Reading Ansam’s post about an Alladin song which included the line “Where they cut off your ear, if they don’t like your face… It’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home”, i thought when i did the research i would find subliminal messages on the same level. Politics, war and present day crisis’s was not to be found, so far at least. Aladdin’s song was a portrayal of Arabs as barbaric and uncivilised by the above quote. Yet, if you google subliminal messages in Disney, you will find the same 6 parts from the same movies. I was surprised, some debatable to me, but the fact that site after site, and blog after blog all mention the same messages has to have some truth in it. Some of the top aides in the Bush administration are being investigated regarding the interrogations of the CIA during the war on terror. As it says in this article here, it is highly unlikely Bush or any of the top officials will end up in jail. But the possibility is there since the steps have been taken by the current Obama administration to actually investigate the Central Intelligence Agency as i wrote about before with their interrogation techniques here. Since 9/11, a domino effect has occured against the Bush administration and it doesnt seem like its stopping anytime soon.

Random piece of information of the day : a white glove thrown by the king of pop, Michael Jackson, in 1996 in Melbourne has been auctioned off and sold for $49,000. The white glove worn in 1983 when he did his first moonwalk for the Motown 25 TV special will also be auctioned off in New York later this year.

What you might not know about Mr. Stewart is that he was the reason CNN took their famous show “Cross Fire” off the air, I kid you not. When asked about the cancellations, CNN President, Jonathan Klein said, referencing Stewart’s appearance on the show:

“I think he made a good point about the noise level of these types of shows, which does nothing to illuminate the issues of the day.”
