Yesterday me and a couple of friends wanted to watch a movie and get a bite to eat. looking through the list of movies over at CineScape’s website there were only 2 options. The Wolfman and From Paris With Love. We chose The Wolfman just because it had Anthony Hopkins in it.
Man were we disappointed, the movie had nothing special, its your typical werewolf movie, no twists and turns. No surprises what so ever. I really had high hopes and expectations for this movie.
Sir Anthony Hopkins, you let me down.
I got a little cheered up after having a chili burger from Johnny Rockets though
That’s 2 movies out of a possible 5 from my list so far. Better get my act together and start catching up.

Being Sunday morning i was able to sleep in, i woke up and flipped thru my iphone and was face to face with Flixster. I decided to check out which were the nearest movie theaters with any decent movies, and stumbled upon Shutter Island. Flixster gave it a 70% but i decided to try it out nevertheless. I used to hate Leonardo Dicaprio, but after such movies as The Aviator, Catch me if You Can, Blood Diamond, Body of Lies and The Departed more recently, he has become one of the actors i am enjoying most in movies. So we went off to the movie theater but decided to eat as we were an hour early for the movie. We went to a Brazilian grill restaraunt which was right by the cinema, and it was awful. Its called Tucano’s grill, and it seemed like the meat was from actual Tucan’s, the bird that is. Anyway back to the movie.
The movie is around 2hrs and 18mins. The only way i can describe it is delusional, hallucinating and utterly genius. It drags you on for almost 2 hours thinking that you know whats going on, when the last 10 minutes it changes totally. Its not like a Sixth Sense kind of ending, but you have the feeling all the way through that something is not right, but its totally different than what you imagine. Of course there will be parts of the movie where you might think it is slow and too easy to guess, but only the ending does justice to the movie. Basically it is about a US marshall (Dicaprio), who is investigating an escaped murderess from a remote island (Shutter Island) which is a hospital for the criminally insane. Martin Scorsese again does not fail to amaze with this plot and ending. IMDB gave it an 8.5, and for their standards that is pretty high. Great movie, with lots of twists and turns and worth the watch.

After spending some time yesterday morning at GulfRun car show at 360 Mall, I decided to go in and have a quick snack/meal somewhere in the mall. So we just walked into the open area with the cafe’s and decided to try Posh Cafe. I thought the name was kind of snobby and unoriginal, but went against my urge and sat there anyway. I didnt take any pictures and this is not an in-depth review. But we tried a selection of sliders, the chicken lettuce wrap and some juices. The presentation and taste of the food was very good. The waiters were professional, and the atmosphere was nice and open. Since it was a quick snack, I will have to go back again with the intention of really digging in and ordering a real meal. But so far it looks pretty good.

A few weeks ago, both Frankom and Qortuba posted about 2 different models of portable speakers, the iHome and the X-mini II. And because I’ve got both models I thought I might do a comparison.
The iHome is a 2 speakers that has a cool storage mechanism, and and they are a bit smaller than the X-mini II (see picture above). And because its 2 speakers you get stereo sound.

Ian Fleming created his legacy, and it continues until current times. I don’t think there is a person who doesn’t enjoy 007 in general. Showmovies Action have recently been putting re-runs of all the Bond movies and anytime i see them on i have to start watching. Probably the worst Bond movies were Pierce Brosnan’s even though he had potential to play the part. And maybe the worst casted Bond was Timothy Dalton. Sean Connery and Roger Moore were great, though I am enjoying Daniel Craig in this new role. He has given Bond a new refreshing and “badass” feel. Gotta love those Bond movies.

After seeing a movie, we decided to have lunch at the Avenues (even though it was crowded, we were hungry).
My wife suggested that we try Pizza Rustica, I know that it was opened a while ago but we still haven’t been there, The restaurant’s location isn’t that great either(I almost didn’t go there because of that, I wanted something that had outside seating, the weather was amazing). It’s located at the end of the food-court opposite to Applepees.
When we got there we noticed that they HAD a few tables on their balcony, we immediately sat there.I ordered an eggplant appetizer and a pizza and my wife had a ravioli.
Let me say that the food was great, all of it. one of the hardest things to get right is the pizza crust, and I absolutely loved theirs. of course fast food pizza are getting disgusting here in Kuwait, so I’m not getting my pizza fix that often any more.
Pizza Rustica is simply the best pizza in Kuwait, and of course good experience doesn’t come from the food alone, the service was excellent too. the staff were helpful and knew their menu, recommended the eggplant dish and juices that we loved too.
