End of Year Getaways
4 Aug 2009 2 Comments
Alot of people, myself included, do not prefer to travel during summer since everwhere is just packed and you tend to run into almost everyone you know wherever you go. So you’re stuck with the months from September to April. But as usual I always have a master plan, being the resort and sun loving person I am, I would rather avoid the colder areas of Europe and the US. So the first stop will be in Mauritius, specifically the Four Seasons at Anahita. Its located South of the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean consisting of a large island as opposed to the many scattered islands of the Maldives.
Sneezies
2 Aug 2009 No Comments
Almost everyone talks about how the iPhone App store has been revolutionary with all their different applications. From a GPS to Skype to WordPress to Shazam to Google Earth to Facebook to every kind of game created. You can find it all in the Apple App store on iTunes. I’m not a hardcore gamer, but I love the simple games that you can play for days and weeks until you download a new one, such as Fieldrunners or Flight Control. My newest addiction is called Sneezies. A simple game where you drop sneezing powder which in turn touches another “sneezy” and makes it incredibly enough, sneeze! The chain reaction makes it sneeze and burst the other sneezies, with every level a target of the amount of sneezies you need to burst. A fun game if you dont want alot of thinking.
Available for a whopping $0.99 in the App Store, or you can go cheap and get the Lite version for free.

Eastbound & Down
2 Aug 2009 No Comments
I went to sleep at around 4:30am this Thursday night at a friends chalet, to wake up to the loudest laughter. After checking my phone, I realized it was only 9:30am! I tried to force myself to sleep but the laughing was way to loud and I got curious to see what was so funny. My friend was laughing his ass off at an episode of Eastbound & Down, produced by (with appearances) Will Ferrell and starring Danny McBride as Kenny Powers, a former MLB star pitcher who is passed his best but still in denial and unable to cope with his current life. The first season consists of 6 episodes and they are all funny as hell! If you enjoyed movies like Old School, Supertroopers, Pineapple Express, Hangover, etc., you will love this.

Log Me In – Software Review
28 Jul 2009 4 Comments
When my long trip to San Diego came up, I looked for a way to manage my home PC remotely and for free. But also needed an efficient way to do it. And so I came across Logmein.
Log Me In is a free web-based service that lets you control and manage multiple Mac/PC’s computer with a browser and internet access.

My main reason for using such a service was too keep track of my downloads and make use of my internet connection while I’m gone. And Logmein helped me with that.

There is also a Logmein iPhone app that lets you control your computer from via your iphone (it costs $30) and the iphone has trouble handling the screen resolution even if you bring it down,I was using an iPhone 3G but it might be better with the iPhone 3G S.

You can’t transfer files between computers in the free version. But you can use other apps such as Dropbox which works flawlessly.
Logmein is not lightning fast, though lowering the screen resolution helps a lot, but it certainly gets the job done, and its free.

Retro Gamer – The Simpsons Arcade
26 Jul 2009 2 Comments
My first look at a retro game.
This week’s title is:

This was one of the best Beat ‘em up games ever released, what killed me that it was never released on any console except for the PC and Commodore 64. So I ended up spending A LOT of money on the arcade. It would have been a much cheaper option for me to buy one of the systems back then.
The Burger Hub – Review
25 Jul 2009 No Comments
Last Thursday, me, Zidaneoo, Heema and a friend went to The Burger Hub for dinner. It was my first dine-in experience but not my first time trying them, as I’ve tried there burgers before but didn’t like them very much. But because is was a takeout experience, I thought I should give them another try.

For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Beetroot (disaster), Wazoo Fries (chips not fries – and not that good) and the Fried Cauliflower (best thing we had all evening).
As for burgers I went with the Four Seasons, a 300 grams of beef patty that takes almost a half hour to get ready, and when it arrived it turns out that it didn’t worth the wait. It wasn’t anything spectacular, it had a lot of caramelized onions in conjunction with their buns are also sweet, which made that overall taste very sweet.
Going to try them when more time before my final verdict. Going to try another appetizer/burger, and I hope they impress.

Public Enemeis – Movie Review
5 Jul 2009 4 Comments
Public Enemies is a terrific movie, I wanted to see it ever since I saw the trailer (the song was great too). I really enjoyed the movie, Depp was great. John Dillinger is so bad ass.
From IMDB:
In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the incredible and true story of legendary Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger (Depp), the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover’s fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public.
Really Dillinger is a bad ass

Michael Jackson Tribute
26 Jun 2009 1 CommentWith every body posting tributes to MJ, I thought this would be a bit different.
Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) is one of those things that I follow, it reminds me of the good (and bad) old days.
