AlJazeera Sport Online Streaming
5 Dec 2011 No Comments
It seems that everybody is joining the online streaming party. After Abu Dhabi Sport made all of the Barclays Premier League matches available online from the beginning of last season, Aljazeera Sport has now the ability to stream all of its 12 channels online.
Not all of the content is available though. As when I was trying to watch last weekends FA Cup matches, I kept getting an error. I hope this gets sorted out and they get the licences for streaming all of their sporting events.

Access is currently free. It was implied that it will be free during November only but it is still free as far as I can tell. There is also an iPad app that make up for iOS’s lack of flash support. But I was able to use AirPlay to watch the game on my TV.

The Most Badass Flash Mob Ever
4 Sep 2011 4 CommentsWe all have seen a number of flash mobs but none come close to how cool this flash mob is. In New Zealand, this flash mob is doing the HAKA, a traditional dance that is also usually preformed by the All Blacks, New Zealand’s rugby team.
False Advertising?
8 Aug 2011 1 CommentGot an email from Abu Dhabi Sport channel telling me that they had an “offer” for existing members for their online subscription, I enjoyed their online service at first last year but as it became more popular the more important games became almost impossible to watch and video just keeps buffering and disconnecting.
But hey 10KD for a whole season? not a bad backup plan. So I follow the link, like their Facebook page (I hate it when companies do that) and follow the newly provided link.
The price is almost double ($65 instead of $35). I am “almost” sure that this is just a mistake. but the offer ends tomorrow and the link is broken. Or are they just hoping that after going through that you would just say “the hell with it” and just subscribe?

Russian Racism: Roberto Carlos Gets A Banana Thrown At Him

Roberto Carlos gets a banana thrown at him during a football match. The Brazilian legend was so mad that he walked off the pitch.
This is the second time that Roberto Carlos was a subject of a racist attack in Russia.
This is where the World Cup is going to take place in 7 years.
True Hopelessness: A Man’s Struggle To Save His Friend
14 Jun 2011 4 Comments
One of the most moving videos I ever watched.
1973, The Dutch Grand Prix. A car crash left british driver Roger Williamson trapped in his overturned burning car. David Purley, abandoned his won race, runs across the track in a desperate attempt to get his countrymen out of his burning vehicle.
Purley’s were in vain. Extinguishing the flames and turning the car upright was just too much to ask from one man.
You can really feel David Purley’s frustration and hopelessness during his solo heroic attempt. As nearby track marshals just stood and watched as they weren’t properly trained or equipped to deal with the situation.
The emotional point of the video is when he realizes that he won’t be able to help his friend and he is actually going to watch him die. Purley almost falls to his knees.
He actually heard Williamson crying for help when he first got to the car. And the sad thing is that Roger Williamson actually died from asphyxiation.
