Android 3.0 Preview

7 Jan 2011  No Comments

Google really meant it when they said that they are developing a tablet centric version of android. Honeycomb looks like its going to be great. I’ve always complained about the waste of space and lack of live info on the iPad’s screen. And it looks like the 3.0 version of android is going to fix that.

The first Honeycomb device should be out as early as March.

My Blackberry Curve 8900 is in Endless “App Error 523″ Restart Cycle

31 Oct 2010  3 Comments

I woke up Thursday morning to find my Curve displaying the image above. It was reading “App Error 523″ and the next line has a clickable “Restart” button. I thought it was no biggy and I’ll just restart the device. but after a lengthy restart I get the same screen again. I didn’t install any new program and before going to bed I was checking my messages and it was working fine.
This sucks because this is my main phone and communication device. Nothing beats a good physical keyboard. Have to check with an expert for a solution.

28 Sep 2010  No Comments

Research In Motion announced a few hours ago the 7-inch multitouch “PlayBook” tablet that should be available early 2011.

Calling it the “First Professional Tablet” when its called the playbook is a little confusing but I’m loving the native Divx support. Also the tablet will act as a companion for your BlackBerry smartphon and you will be able to tether your data connection via bluetooth. And it has a dual core CPU.

Key features and specifications of the BlackBerry PlayBook, according to RIM, include:

  • 7-inch LCD, 1024 x 600, WSVGA, capacitive touch screen with full multi-touch and gesture support
  • BlackBerry Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing
  • 1 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing), supports 1080p HD video recording
  • Video playback: 1080p HD Video, H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV
  • Audio playback: MP3, AAC, WMA
  • HDMI video output
  • Wi-Fi – 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Connectors: microHDMI, microUSB, charging contacts
  • Open, flexible application platform with support for WebKit/HTML-5, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Adobe Mobile AIR, Adobe Reader, POSIX, OpenGL, Java
  • Ultra thin and portable:
    • Measures 5.1”x7.6”x0.4” (130mm x 193mm x 10mm)
    • Weighs less than a pound (approximately 0.9 lb or 400g)

Like the idea of having multiple accounts on a single card and also having a portion of the card number not visible for security reasons.

Blink Online Store

Just read this on ilSul6ana’s blog. I know Blink isn’t the first electronic online store in Kuwait but what made me post about it is their website interface is just too familiar.

I was in there store last month when I had my PC problem and saw -in my opinion- the best PC case ever created. The problem was it was the last piece and all scratched up. Also it costs 210KD :s

MacUpdate Fall Bundle

15 Sep 2010  1 Comment

I posted perviously about MacUpdate promotions and bundles. I just noticed that the released their fall bundle. There are 3 apps that I liked and made me purchase the bundle Toast 10 Titanium, My Living Desktop and Live Interior 3D the extra apps are not bad but I think I would hardly use them. Toast 10 by itself makes the bundle worth it.
