A look at the visual effects that made HBO’s Game Of Thrones the success that it is. Special effects came a long way in the last few years, its getting harder and harder to distinguish reality from fiction.

New TV Series: Suits

27 Jun 2011  4 Comments

Suits is another TV series that had it’s pilot episode air recently. After just watching the first episode I fell in love with this show, it’s a mix of Boston Legal (one of the best TV shows ever created) and House M.D.

In A Legal Mind, one of Manhattan’s top corporate lawyers (Gabriel Macht) sets out to recruit a new hotshot associate and hires the only guy that impresses him – a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout (Patrick J. Adams). Though he isn’t actually a lawyer, this legal prodigy has the book smarts of a Harvard law grad and the street smarts of a hustler. However, in order to serve justice and save their jobs, both these unconventional thinkers must continue the charade.

The show is highly recommended and is just released with episode 2 airing next thursday.

New TV Series: Falling Skies

Falling Skies

A new TV series premiered a few days ago. Falling Skies is TNT’s answer to AMC’s The Walking Dead. But instead of zombies the bad guys are aliens. The show is produced by Steven Spielberg.

The chaotic aftermath of an alien attack has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force.

After watching the first couple of episodes I was impressed.

The Best Drama Series I Watched This Year

23 Jun 2011  1 Comment

As I previously mentioned, I started watching a lot of new shows this year. One of these shows is AMC’s The Killing. I’m not a fan of drama series but this show got me hooked. Instead the usual one murder per episode method that other shows do. The Killing’s whole first season you follow detectives Linden and Holder as they try to solve the murder Rosie Larsen. This lets you connect with the characters and appreciate the detective work that they do instead of just 40 mins you get a whole season.

The season finale just air a couple of days ago. the show is also full of twists that keeps hungry for more.

The Simpsons

A great infographic showing the whole cast of the Simpsons and the voices they do.

I knew that Hank Azaria did some voices, but I never thought it was that many.

Whose Line is It Anyway Returns

The highly entertaining improv show Whose Line is it Anyway looks like it is scheduled for a comeback in a few months. This is the funniest TV show ever. I’m excited to see it return, but too bad that Wayne Brady is not among the new cast.

The Walking Dead – Impressions

3 Dec 2010  4 Comments

I have been following The Walking Dead tv series since the release of the pilot episode a little over a month ago. So far I watched all 5 episodes and this is what I think of the show.

First off, its a new breed of TV shows. I personally never followed a series that had any type of zombies in them. And because vampires are so 2008. The latest fad is zombies. You can find them anywhere and everywhere, and I’m not saying that thats a bad thing. What really got on my nerves when watching the show was the dialog. Its really tacky and it lacks any kind of sophistication. Some of the lines are just plain stupid. I can’t see the show maintaing its viewer numbers for over a season. Other than that, it’s pretty much entertaining.
