I have uncovered the latest gem using the local talent agency which this blog is becoming. The above comic is done by one of our commenters here Miss Good Egg, who also has her own blog which you can go to here. The comic itself is a true portrayal of how people are before the fast officially begins. She will try and post a comic once a week.
The Unrepentant Shoe Thrower
15 Sep 2009 1 Comment“I got my chance and I didn’t miss it,”

Thats one of the first things Muntadhar al-Zaidi said to reporters after being freed from jail. He was made infamous after his shoe-throw at President George Bush and a cult hero to many, including local MP’s. If you dont remember he called “W” a dog and threw both his shoes at him. Bush counter-reacted with 2 ducks to avoid both the shoes, and managed a wry smile as well.
Travis Pastrana & MTV’s Nitro Circus
15 Sep 2009 5 CommentsA spin-off from Jackass, Nitro Circus is based around Travis Pastrana, who is an X-games legend. Created partly by Johnny Knoxville, and into the second season of his show, this is a video of Travis jumping out of a plane with no parachute and just a can of RedBull and shorts.
He says, “I hope this stuff works” after his sip of Redbull and jumps out of the plane.
Random Information of the Day : Remember Rodney King back in 1991 getting assaulted by 2 white cops? “Seventeen years, a criminal trial and a $3m legal settlement later, King has put himself back in harm’s way, agreeing to go toe-to-toe with a notoriously aggressive cop through the colourful medium of celebrity boxing.”

Ever dropped your cell phone in water? Ever had to replace an iPod because of battery problems? How about spilling liquid on a laptop? These, and many other everyday nuisances occur to us all the time. And we usually end up fully replacing the ‘defected’ object. But wait, I read this article on MSN and it seemed very helpful for alot of these problems. Even stuff like reviving a stuck LCD panel are included. Check out the article right here.
Random Information of the Day : So there was the dotcom bubble, then in Kuwait we had the Sushi bubble and currently we are experiencing the cupcake/cookie bubble. But did you know that our last “bubble” (sushi and sashimi) is in the top 5 list of most foods to contain parasites? Some foods to ponder over here.
Teddy on the Go
10 Sep 2009 No Comments“Teddy is an alter ego. He willingly volunteered to be a social experiment to help create a life for someone who is trying to settle back into a society. This person is living vicariously through Teddy by establishing new relations, building a network, starting a new life, and trying new things. Teddy is real, and you can be a part of his life too.”

Keeping with our trend of supporting local blogs/websites/ventures, i had stumbled upon www.yearofteddy.com from Mark. Basically, it will take you through a year of the life of a teddy bear. With a new post everyday with a picture of its latest adventure. Enjoy teddy as he has only begun his journey.

Bad-Ass Fins (Continued)
10 Sep 2009 5 CommentsKeeping with the spirit of GulfRun and Brakebanzeen, as well as an earlier post by N about the badass fins, i just wanted to add this Top Gear episode as number 3 on the list of reasons why Fins are bad-asses. Its another of those episodes for some reason alot of people didnt see. Mika Hakkinen uses the award-winning engine to teach James May how to drive like a man, among other cars. Check it out.
Local Information of the Day : Buzberry have created an application for their blog/twitter that has been submitted to the iTunes Apps store and pending approval. Good job guys and keep up the good work.
The Rejects
8 Sep 2009 No Commentshave you always wondered which iPhones app never made it to the app store, or made it and then got booted out? What were the reasons for Apple not accepting them? From third party copy right infringment, to being defamatory to a public figure, to even “causing confusion to another app”. Most of the apps rejected would not be of interest to most of us either way. Baby shaking, George W. Bush and Google… this list has got them all.

You can find in the link below the top 20 most notorious apps which got rejected from the iTunes Apps store.

Random Information of the day : “Spotify have released both their iPhone and Android mobile apps, a little over a week after Apple approved it in late August. Premium subscribers to the streaming music service will now be able to access Spotify’s catalog on their iPhone, iPod touch, or any of the Android devices currently available. It looks to have just gone live in Europe where you can now have access to over 6 million songs on your iPhone for roughly $20 a month.” Taken from here and here.
Borat & the Mankini
8 Sep 2009 6 Comments
We all know Sacha Baron Cohen from his days of Ali G, Borat and more recently Bruno. Known for his political and social incorrectness, Borat was a fan favorite among almost all of his movie-goers. But he must have pushed the limit with his mankini. The mankini, if you dont remember, is the one piece ’Man’s Bikini’ that he wore and pushed the envelope of all that is acceptable for a straight man. For all those weirdo’s who would actually like to own one, you can buy it from here.
I personally would go for the inflatable sumo costume.
