This is one awesome video, a compilation of the best 10 flyby’s on the web. Those people are just insane.

In other aviation news, The Lockheed Martin’s F-35 managed to hover for the first time. The B variant stayed still for about 90 seconds in Patuxent River naval air station on March 17th.

The F-35 comes in 3 flavors, the “A” variant COTL (Conventional Takeoff and Landing). “B” STOVL (Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing). And Finally “C” Carrier variant, designed to make use of CATOBAR system (Catapult Assisted Take Off But Arrested Recovery).

Some Dubai Pictures

During my last visit to Dubai I managed to take a few photos on the first day there. There where some clouds that made “Burj Khalifa” look amazing. I didn’t wander off taking pictures all around Dubai, no, I just strolled around my hotel which was located very nicely close to every thing.

Here are just some of those pics, will upload the rest to my Flickr account later.

All pictures where taken using my Sony A350. Click on images for a larger view.

The “Playstation Move” Ad

18 Mar 2010  No Comments

An advertisement for Sony’s upcoming motion controller that they call “Move” was just released and there are some references to Microsoft and Nintendo in it. Overall the advert in my opinion is pretty good and the points that its making are legitimate. It seems that Sony are taking a play right out of Apple’s book.

The references are:

  • "Because real boxers don’t hit like this” <– Wii Sports/Boxing
  • "It’s also got what we in the future call buttons, which turn out to be pretty important to those handful of millions of people who enjoy playing shooters, platformers, well, anything that doesn’t involve catching a big red ball." <– Microsoft’s Project Natal
  • "C’mon, who wants to pretend their hand is a gun. What is this, third grade? Pew, pew, pew.”<– Microsoft’s Project Natal

Green Zone

During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one bobby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission. Spun by operatives with intersection agendas, Miller must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil for answers that will either clear a rogue regime or escalate a war in an unstable region. And at this blistering time and in this combustible place, he will find the most elusive weapon of all is the truth.

Boogeyman 3

No longer content with preying only on the fearful minds of mental-health-facility residents and adults who return to their traumatizing childhood homes, the boogeyman ventures into the angst-ridden halls of a college dormitory in this hair-raising second sequel to the original 2005 chiller. A series of odd occurrences leads Sarah Morris to believe her roommateÂ’s apparent suicide was actually the result of insidious supernatural forces. But before she can convince her friends and neighbors, they too begin to meet their ends, one by one.

Stupid Drivers

I saw these 3 videos while I was browsing today. All I can say is that the roads are really not safe and we have to focus more when having  people like the ones in the videos on the road.

Drive safely.

Sketch-A-Move

15 Mar 2010  3 Comments

Sketch-a-move is a concept for a toy car that allows you to explore the unique relationships between small surface doodles and actual physical movements. If you draw a circle on the top of the toy car, it will move in a circle. If you draw a complicated spiral, the car will move in a spiral.

Why is Flickr Blocked in The UAE

15 Mar 2010  2 Comments

Flickr Blocked

I got the image above when I tried to access flickr during my stay in Dubai. I have no idea why would flickr be blocked, it just makes no sense. I thought they just might be religiously strict so I tried to  access a gambling site, and I did.

casino

And just to make sure that I didn’t just access a site that just wasn’t blocked, giving them the benefit of the doubt (even though that the word casino might have been on top of their list) I tried again, with the first Google result for the search “online gambling”.

Online Gambling

So if its not religious, what is it?
